Own It
  • 11th studio album (2nd with Nicks and Buckingham).
  • They were on cocaine for much of the recording sessions.
  • Followed their commercially successful 1975 eponymous album.
  • Although each member of the band went through a breakup (John and Christine McVie, Buckingham and Nicks, and Fleetwood and his wife Jenny) while recording the album, they continued to write and record together.
  • The song "Silver Springs", written by Stevie Nicks about the ending of her relationship with Buckingham, was intended for the album. Despite strenuous and repeated objections from Nicks, it was ultimately excluded for multiple reasons, including its length and relatively slower tempo. However, the song was released in late 1976 as the B-side of the "Go Your Own Way" single, a Buckingham-written song about the couple's breakup. When the remastered edition of Rumours was released in 2004, "Silver Springs" was included.
